It’s hard to believe that it has already been six years since Pretty Little Liars premiered! The pilot aired on June 8, 2010 on ABC Family (now known as Freeform).

Over the last six years, we have seen the girls become closer than ever — whether they’re having a sleepover in a shed or fighting off “A,” the liars always have had each other’s backs.

With June 8th being National Best Friend Day, we thought we’d take some time to reminisce on the girls’ adventures in both the oldest and most recent episodes of the show!

Episode one demonstrated how close Aria (Lucy Hale), Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Emily (Shay Mitchell), Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Alison (Sasha Pieterse) were as the girls gathered for a slumber party in Spencer’s shed. A playful, fun night of Alison scaring the girls took a quick turn for the worse when she disappeared in their sleep.

Since 2010, we have watched Hanna, Emily, Aria, and Spencer go through numerous bonding experiences in their high school years. Disregarding all of the relationships and consistent deceit from countless enemies, the girls have remained together as one.

After the girls endured four long years of fighting off the mysterious enemy known as “A”, the saga came to a conclusion with the reveal of Alison’s very own sister, Charlotte.

During the most recent season, the girls are portrayed “five years forward” in their lives. But being the show as we know it, everything went wild after Charlotte was released from her psychiatric hospital. When the liars reunite for her court case, the threats strike back up again – and the confirmation of Charlotte’s death, leads to “A” being (once again) anonymous.

Season six ended with the girls concocting their most daring plan yet —using Hanna as bait for “A.” Hanna is kidnapped and the girls must work together to get her back to safety.

We can’t wait to see what happens when Pretty Little Liars returns for season seven on Tuesday, June 21st!
