Following the success of her debut solo album Camila, released back in January 2018, fans have been patiently awaiting a follow up album from multi-talented songstress Camila Cabello.
Whilst Camila has released a number of collaborations in the meantime, including ‘Mi Persona Favorita’ with Alejandro Sanz, ‘Find You Again’ with Mark Ronson, ‘Señorita’ with Shawn Mendes, and ‘South of the Border’ with Ed Sheeran and Cardi B, back in September Camila gave fans the news they were desperate to hear: her new era was about to begin.
Teasing her sophomore album Romance, Camila shared what she knew about love with a dreamy visual before announcing the release of the first two tracks from her new era: ‘Liar’ and ‘Shameless’.
Since then, Camila has unveiled two more songs from the album, with each song offering a different perspective on the world of romance whilst hitting us right in the feels.
In case you’ve been living under a rock for the last two months, here’s a recap of all four songs from Camila Cabello’s new era.
‘Liar’
As one half of the initial double release from Romance, ‘Liar’ is a Latin-inspired track which sees Camila give into temptation when it comes to letting go and falling in love. The song has been paired up with another incredible (and hilarious) music video from the songstress which showcases her personality.
‘Shameless’
‘Shameless’, on the other hand, is laced with a darker tone as Camila feels a love so deep that she doesn’t care who sees it or knows about it. The passionate pop track shows off her flawless vocals and has been perfectly paired with a dramatic visual which includes Camila going to confession.
‘Cry For Me’
As the third release from Romance, ‘Cry For Me’ is a song many of us will be able to relate to. Telling a tale of an ex moving on faster than you, ‘Cry For Me’ is a punchy pop song which sees Camila unleash wild jealousy about this situation. It’s a song packed with rage which deserves to be sung at full blast by anyone who’s experienced this kind of heartache before. Camila delivered a passionate performance of the track during her Saturday Night Live debut, complete with dramatic staging.
‘Easy’
The final track from Romance so far is ‘Easy’, a gorgeous mid-tempo ballad which sees Camila experience a love so pure that it allows her to love herself too. “Always thought I was hard to love
’til you made it seem so easy”, she sings during the dreamy track. Camila also performed ‘Easy’ during SNL, which showcases her passion for music as she feels every beat of the song.
If these four tracks are anything to go by then Romance looks set to be something quite spectacular!
