Red Hot Chili Peppers are on a great roll once again as their new studio album, The Getaway, reaches the summit of multiple iTunes charts worldwide.
Currently, their record holds the number 1 spot in over 40 countries including the United States, Argentina, Australia, Germany, Japan, Russia, Italy, New Zealand, Spain, Singapore, etc. Their debut single for the album, ‘Dark Necessities’ has already made physical chart impact as well.
‘Dark Necessities’ is a golden mixture of funk and alternative rock whose already skyrocketed to number 1 on the US Rock Airplay chart and the US Adult Alternative songs chart. European charts like Italy’s FIMI chart and Australia’s ARIA, have the song in the mid to high 70’s. This also includes Germany (#84), Japan (#54) and France (#63).
While the hot track hasn’t landed on the Billboard Hot 100, it’s predicted to enter on the next week update chart due to its high streaming numbers and the aid of the recently released album.
The Chili Peppers’ last album I’m With You also did superbly well on charts worldwide and garnered them number one spots in almost every European chart. It narrowly missed the number one spot on the Billboard 200 charts, but it seems that The Getaway might just receive that righteous spot due to the albums greater reception.
