Earlier this year Norweigan duo Seeb burst into 2019 in big style with funky, dancefloor filler Free To Go featuring Highasakite. Now they’ve enlisted the help of Olivia O’Brien and Space Primates on popper number Fade Out and if you were looking for a summer anthem you might have just found it!
The tongue in cheek video follows a relationship moving far too fast and wanting to ‘fade out’ to get away from the inevitable issues which are going to follow if it carries on this way. Olivia’s sweet but sassy vocals allow her to come across as a powerful woman knowing that it’s her way or the high way when it comes to love. Seeb and Olivia have come together to create an undeniably catchy track as we find ourselves singing along throughout the track.
As the track progresses we see a new side to Olivia rising up; ‘You just want me to come over one more time. And honestly, that’s not gonna change a thing‘ turning away from a relationship which wasn’t working and moving to what’s good for her even if it doesn’t always end well. This fun number also touches on the reliance of technology within relationships as a form of constant communication, meaning privacy just really doesn’t exist anymore.
Speaking of the collaboration Olivia said: “I’m so happy to be featured on this track with Seeb. Working with them was really fun and I hope everyone likes it! It’s super dancey and I think it will be a great vibe for summer”. Whilst Seeb added: “The song is written by us, Space Primates and Olivia together with Asia Whitacre and Jim Lavigne who both are extremely talented songwriters that we hope to work more with in the future. We’ve actually been working on this song for a long time now, and it feels good to finally let our fans hear it!“. We have a feeling we’ll be playing (and singing along to) this track a lot over the summer!
Last month, Olivia O’Brien released her debut album Was It Even Real? featuring the likes of self-love anthem Love Myself and Just Friends; the ultimate snapback to reality track singing of when you too carried away before realising you want to just take it slow. You can listen to the album here.
