One of the most wonderful things about Cas is his quotes. He doesn’t have the best people skills, so his wording tends to be a bit strange.
So, in honor of the show’s twelfth season, here are twelve of Castiel’s most memorable quotes.
1. “I’m the one who gripped you tight and raised you from perdition.”
This one’s a little hard to forget. Castiel made a grand entrance into the show, and his first words? The quote up above. Because it started it all, the phrase is found on plenty of Supernatural merchandise. The Hot Topical has carried multiple items featuring the angel’s opening line over the years.
2. “Hey ass-butt!”
Castiel has had some great comebacks for people and monsters, and this has to be one of the greatest. It’s closer to being hilarious than threatening, but you know. This is Cas we’re talking about.
3. “I learned that from the pizza man.”
A classic. While Castiel and the Winchesters were at a motel, the angel was flipping through channels and landed on some cheesy porno. According to him, that’s where he learned how to kiss a girl… or well, demon.
4. “I’ll interrogate the cat.”
Castiel simply doesn’t understand animals, but that’s perfectly okay. Under all that seriousness, Cas really is a baby in a trenchcoat, and pretty much everyone cherishes it.
5. “I found a liquor store… And I drank it.”
Drunk Castiel is… interesting, to say the least. Not only is it kind of sad, but it’s also kind of funny. Kind of like a lot of drunks out there.
6. “It’s funnier in Enochian.”
Also from the time Castiel decided to get wasted. Considering his translation doesn’t seem much like a joke, it really must be funnier in Enochian… or the angel has no sense of humor. It could go either way.
7. “I don’t understand that reference.”
Remember; baby in a trenchcoat.
8. “Maybe one day, but today you’re my little bitch.”
Surely an iconic scene. Cas may be a baby in a trenchcoat, but that doesn’t mean he can’t kick ass. Raphael directly threatened him, and not only does the angel stand his ground, but he gets sassy with it. These are the kind of moments that show how fantastic of a character he is.
9. “What a brave little ant you are.”
Okay, so evil Cas isn’t the greatest. It’s especially not awesome when evil Cas is evil towards Dean Winchester. Nevertheless, it’s still a classically hilarious Castiel quote.
10. “This is a vessel. My true form is approximately the size of your Chrysler building.”
Sometimes it’s easy to forget that Castiel’s body isn’t actually his (or at least, it wasn’t originally). It’s only a meat suit. His true form, according to the angel himself, is much bigger.
11. “I’m hunted, I rebelled, and I did it, all of it, for you.”
If you’re involved in the Supernatural fandom, then you know that Destiel (Dean/Castiel) is a massive ship. While this scene in particular isn’t exactly warm and loving, it does show the relationship between the two. Castiel went entirely off the rails for one reason, and one reason only: to protect the older Winchester brother.
12. “Nothing is worth losing you.”
While Destiel is wildly popular, that doesn’t mean Castiel’s other friendships shouldn’t be given a spotlight. The angel was performing a procedure that would’ve killed Sam if he kept going, so Cas stopped despite the Winchester telling him not to. According to Cas, nothing was worth losing Sam.
Yeah, Castiel is incredible.
