The first trailer for the upcoming movie Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, And Vile has been released.
The highly anticipated movie sees Zac Efron take on the role of Ted Bundy, one of America’s most notorious serial killers. Directed by Joe Berlinger, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, And Vile will tell Bundy’s story from the perspective of his long term girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer, played by Lily Collins. The movie also stars Kaya Scodelario, Jim Parsons, John Malkovich and Metallica’s James Hetfield.
Over the past few months, we’ve seen sneak peeks of the cast in action through pictures on social media. However, the trailer gives us the first real taste of the movie itself, with Efron stepping out of his comfort zone to perfectly nail the serial killer’s infamous persona.
The trailer captures the relationship between Bundy and Kloepfer, with the single mum struggling to believe that her partner could be guilty of such abominable crimes. It also focuses on Bundy’s trial, and the ‘celebrity status’ he achieved thanks to his seemingly charming and charismatic nature, with Efron declaring, “I’m more popular than Disney World”.

The trailer comes following the 30th anniversary of Bundy’s execution in the electric chair at Florida State Prison. Earlier this week, a new four-part docu-series titled Conversations With a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes, also directed by Berlinger, arrived onto Netflix.
Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile is set to premiere at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival today and will be released in cinemas later this year.
Conversations With A Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes is also available to stream on Netflix now.
