Abby Lee Miller pleads guilty to fraud

Monday, June 27, ‘Dance Moms’ star, Abby Lee Miller, pleaded guilty to two of the 20 accounts of fraud she was indicted for last year. The dance teacher pleaded guilty to concealing bankruptcy assets and not reporting foreign currency brought from Australia. According to the prosecutor, Miller forced her employees to hide $120,000 in their luggage on their trip home.

Initially, Miller was facing up to five years in prison and a $5 million fine. However, her attorneys have struck a deal with the prosecutors which means that Miller is only facing up to 2,5 years in jail as of now. Her fate will be decided on October 11.

Abby Lee Miller’s lawyer sent out a statement earlier today saying, “Throughout this case, Miss Miller has taken both the allegations and the proceedings very seriously. This has been a challenging time for Miss Miller. She appreciates the words of encouragement and support from around the world.”

Last week, a new case, also concering fraud, was made against the infamous reality star. If found guilty, Miller will face up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Earlier this month, speculations concerning Miller’s position on the show arose on social media, due to all of the dance moms posting pictures of their daughters with choreographer Erin Babbs. All of the pictures were captioned “#NewBeginnins”.
