Boy George & Culture Club have released a new version of ‘Runaway Train’, featuring the iconic Gladys Knight.

Originally taken from their most recent album LIFE, ‘Runaway Train’ was re-recorded with Gladys back in September, and following its release on vinyl on World Record Day, the collaboration is now available for all to hear across streaming services.

As one of Boy George’s biggest musical heroes growing up, this collaboration fulfilled a life-time ambition for the star. On Twitter, he said: “At 13 I would listening to @MsGladysKnight & The Pips over, over and over. Her rich sensual voice washed over my soul and made my world a better place.”

After re-recording the track in September 2018, Gladys joined Boy George & Culture Club on stage at LA’s The Greek Theatre during the band’s US tour to perform the song. The track was also released as an exclusive shaped 10″ vinyl in celebration of Record Store Day.

‘Runaway Train’ is taken from LIFE,  the band’s first album in 20 years. The soulful album includes tracks such as ‘Let Somebody Love You’ and ‘Life’. Following its release, the album charted within the UK top 20.
