Last year, we introduced you to the sensational singer-songwriter Brynn Elliott, who released her Time Of Our Lives EP, a five-track offering which was inspired by her time at Harvard studying philosophy.
Each of the five tracks were inspired by a different philosopher or set of ideas. Speaking to us last year, Brynn said: “Studying philosophy is what inspired me to start writing pop music specifically, because philosophy is the subject where you’re trying to understand universal ideas and you’re trying to communicate them in a simple way.
“When you walk into a room to write a song, that’s exactly what you’re doing. It’s a little more poetic and there’s obviously other elements involved but when you’re writing a pop song you’re trying to identify that feeling or experience that every person has.”
Earlier this week Brynn teamed up with Vevo to give two of the EP’s songs a new lease of life, by releasing special live performances of ‘Internet You’ and ‘Tongue Tied’.
Performing ‘Internet You’ on guitar and ‘Tongue Tied’ on keys, Brynn offers a captivating stripped back performance of the EP favourites, allowing her dreamy vocals to take centre stage. The simple yet effective showcase heightens the emotion of both songs, with Brynn proving to be every inch the rising star.
