    Goodbye Fresh Meat!

Channel 4’s hit comedy Fresh Meat aired its final episode last night, marking the end of its 4 series run. The show, staring top comedy names like Jack Whitehall and The Inbetweener’s Joe Thomas, began back in 2011 and became one of British televisions most popular shows. It followed a group of 6 housemates as they navigated the highs and lows of university life, from the parties, to the student protests gone wrong and occasionally some last minute studying!

As we reported earlier this year, the fourth series returned to a huge success and focused mainly on the gang’s attempts to think about life post-university. We saw our favourite students attempt to finish their courses, decide future career plans (or not, in the case of most) and prepare to say goodbye to university in true student fashion – a final huge party that literally destroyed their shared house! It was a great and fitting end to a show that has brought laughs, tears, and a refreshingly honest portrayal of student life. It has also bought us some fantastic acting with a stellar cast who have all gone onto great success – from Whitehall’s comic success to Greg McHugh’s recent role in new BBC drama The A Word.

So goodbye Fresh Meat and thanks for it all. We will miss the show (when we’re not marathoning it on Netflix!) and will keep our fingers crossed for an eventual spin-off!
