Earlier this month we told you how James Bay recently released his new single Pink Lemonade. Now he’s gone one better and released a nostalgic video for the track which you can’t help but feel a little nostalgic whilst watching.
The video opens up with James and his band performing on TV before we see a wannabe astronaut sneaking around the house when his parents are sleeping. This glitzy video tells the story of a desire to rebel and escape as seen when James builds his own spaceship. James revealed the inspiration and his own story behind the track
“I was reminded of a time when I was about 4 years old and I told my parents I’d had enough of living with them and would be leaving home. Obviously, I never went through with it. But the drama of filling a pillow case with my most essential toys, opening the backdoor and announcing to the kitchen that it was time for me to leave is what gave me the idea for the video.”
We absolutely love not just the story behind it but how fun recording this video must have been with a whole lot of glitz and the chance to build a spaceship, who wouldn’t love it?
The uptempo track is one of James Bay’s most exciting and highly anticipated due to it being taken from upcoming album Electric Light. Electric Light is released on May 18th and is supported by ongoing touring across the year. For all the tour details head here.
