Former Glee star, Jenna Ushkowitz, just announced that she is working with Daniel and Laura Curtis on the 2016 Your Voice Competition. The singer and actress will be releasing the official single to the competition.
The Your Voice Competition is an international search for new musical theatre talent. It is open to any nationality, age and group size and all the proceeds from the entry fees will be donated to the Kindred: The Foundation for Adoption, which was co-founded by Ushkowitz. The entries are going be judged by a panel of Broadway and West End performers. The winner of the Your Voice Competition will receive theatre tickets, an overnight stay in New York, and a recording session.
Daniel Curtis told BroadwayWorld that “It has been such a pleasure to work with Jenna on this project, it was wonderful to work with somebody with such a fantastic voice and such a big heart.”
Laura Curtis explained more about the competition by saying, “Entry packs are available at www.yourvoicecompetition.com. In the pack, there are a number of our songs to choose from in different keys with sheet music and backing tracks. Simply choose which one you’d like to cover then follow the instructions on the website to send us your entry”.
Ushkowitz’s single “Standing On My Own”, is available for pre-order right now and will be released on June 28th.
