Meghan Trainor sure knows how to treat her fans well. Not content with releasing just one new track today, the ‘All About That Bass’ songstress decided to drop two new offerings for us all to enjoy.
‘Let You Be Right’ and ‘Can’t Dance’ are laced with Meghan’s signature infectious vibe and offer up further insight into what we can expect from her forthcoming third album. The tracks follow on from the previously released ‘No Excuses’.
Offering up a disco-tinged groove, ‘Let You Be Right’ showcases a throwback sound and sees Meghan try and make up with her lover. “I don’t wanna fight tonight, I’ma let you be right”, she croons during the chorus, which is bound to be ingrained in your mind after just one listen.
On the other hand, ‘Can’t Dance’ is a fierce bop which sees Meghan asserting herself, bringing a sense of self-confidence to proceedings. Meghan delivers a seductive chorus, telling her partner that “Even if you can’t dance just hold my hips, hold my hands while I roll my hips, even if you can’t dance I’ll handle it, follow me and don’t stop.”
Whilst the release date is currently unknown, MT3 looks set to be an incredible album. Meghan has proven her ability to deliver a captivating pop hook time and time again, but her new era of music takes things to another level. If ‘No Excuses’, ‘Let You Be Right’, and ‘Can’t Dance’ are anything to go by, then MT3 will be her best album yet.
In addition to releasing new music, Meghan will be returning as a panellist on Fox’s The Four: Battle For Stardom this June.
