After some amazing years with RoadTrip, I feel it’s the right time for me to leave the band. I’d like to thank every single Roadie for showing such an overwhelming amount of support towards myself and the boys. You have all completely changed my life and know that I will forever cherish the memories I shared with each and every one of you ?? I’d also like to thank everyone I’ve had the pleasure of working with, @blairsworld for the opportunity, and of course the boys. Not only have I made some amazing memories with these guys, I’ve also made 4 best friends for life. Although it’s the time for me to leave the band I will be supporting them every step of the way and I’m so excited to see what the future holds in store for them! I’m truly grateful for every experience and wish these guys the best in every endeavour ?? @roadtriptv @ryebeaumont @brooklynwyattmusic @iamjackduff @fovvs
In the statement, he also took the time to thank fans of the band – better known as ‘Roadies’ – for their support during his time in the band, who have supported the band with their single and EP releases, tours and much more. Additionally, he also thanked the band’s management company, also thanking the remaining members of the band – Andy Fowler, Ryan (Rye) Beaumont, Brooklyn Wyatt and Jack Duff – wishing them ‘the best in every endeavour.’
The remaining four members addressed the departure on their official Instagram account, with their explaining that ‘the pages of the book turn again, but they do not end.’

Roadtrip Tv has always been about you! The fans, The Roadies! from the name of the band to the trialists to the members. Today the pages of the book turn again as they always have but they do not end. @mikeycobban has been our friend our brother our family member, we have laughed, cried and traveled the world together. Nothing will break our bond as brothers but for mikey, missing his family and not being able to watch his niece grow was a struggle between the love of his band and his family. Happiness is something that comes with sacrifice and if this sacrifice is for the good of the individual how can we not support that as his brothers! We love you mikey, from the bottom of our hearts we do! The memories will continue …. Roadies it’s time to be strong, the book must go on, the journey continues…. we love you all. Thank you for all your support @blairsworld #AlphadogFamily ??
The reason given for his departure was due to personal circumstances, with him wanting to spend more precious time with his family.
The band also unveiled a video on to their official YouTube Channel, echoing what was shared in relation to their official statements. Following the release of the news of his departure, fans took to social media to share both their shock and heartbreak at the news.
Since joining the band in late 2015, Mikey has been a crucial member of the band, also helping many fans through difficult times. His talent, vocals and personality made him a fundamental part of Road Trip and his departure marks a brand new chapter for the band, with rumours rife as to whether a new member will join the existing line-up.
