OneRepublic: Live in South Africa to be released on DVD

It’s been over two years since OneRepublic took to the road for their Native World Tour. However, fans are about to receive the perfect throwback in the form of a concert DVD

It’s been announced that OneRepublic: Live in South Africa will be released on DVD, blu-ray and digital download on February 23. The show was recorded live at The Ticketpro Dome (previously The Coca-Cola Dome) in Johannesburg, South Africa. Highlighting the tour’s closing stages, the live show sees the band perform their huge hits, including ‘Counting Stars’, ‘Apologize’, and ‘If I Love Myself’, in front of 20,000 fans.

The physical DVD will also include an all-access documentary which charts the band’s journey to success. In a series of exclusive interviews and never-before-seen footage, the band reflect on their past and look forward to the future. There is also a performance of ‘Wherever I Go’ live from the Sydney Harbour.

The tour was in support of their 2013 album Native, which featured the global smash ‘Counting Stars’. During their mammoth tour, OneRepublic played multiple shows in 154 cities in 26 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania, and North/South America.

Since the success of Native, the band have released a fourth album called Oh My My, their most experimental to date. Following its release, OneRepublic revealed that they would be focusing on dropping songs as and when they felt like it, rather than working towards another body of work. Tracks such as ‘No Vacancy’ and ‘Rich Love’ have allowed the group to continue experimenting with their sound.

Along with the DVD announcement, OneRepublic are kicking off their 2018 with a huge performance. They will join John Legend, Lorde, Harry Styles, Keith Urban and Haim on January 26 to honour Fleetwood Mac at this year’s MusiCares Person of the Year tribute concert.

OneRepublic: Live in South Africa is available to pre-order now.
