With the show undergoing many changes, it was no surprise that Bootcamp was affected too!
Auditions come to an end on Saturday night with Bootcamp beginning on Sunday night.
This year, Bootcamp is being carried out in a country manor. 2011 was the last time a country manor was used and it caused controversy as some acts were sent home before they had even sung. It seemed to follow a similar format this year with acts who were originally given four yeses being sent home before singing anything! According to producers, this was the ‘most thoughtful option.’
The stage is located in the middle of the grounds with judges Simon, Cheryl, Rita and Nick being placed under a gazebo.
The first challenge contestants face is to team up with other contestants to perform a song. BUT there is a new rule: acts have to collaborate with singers from at least three different categories instead of just sticking rigidly with their own.
As the format goes each year, the contestants have to carry out solo performances as well while the contestants watched in a holding room likely full of nerves. After their performance, the contestants will receive no judges feedback.
At least you can say they’re now prepared for the horrific 6 chair challenge back in Wembley again….or not!
