Simon Cowell and producers of the ITV talent show The X Factor are set to be giving the show a ‘drastic revamp’ in order to boost its ratings.
One major change that will be made is that the number of live shows will be cut from 10 to 6, with acts being eliminated on both the Saturday and Sunday night shows.
Ditching its usual format of 10 weeks of live shows to 6 will be similar to 2015’s series where live shows were cut to 7 weeks.
It is believed that well known artists will perform on both Saturday and Sunday night in a bid to increase viewers, scraping the Sunday nights ‘result show’ format.
Some of this year’s auditions are being filmed at Thorpe Park theme park in order to create fun shots of the judges around the park.
One aspect of the show that hasn’t changed this year are the judges, with Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh all set to return after recieving such a positive reaction from the fans last year.
However, Alesha Dixon, acting as guest judge this year, has had to step in on two occasions, filling in for Nicole in Manchester due to a diary clash and Sharon as she pulled out of Edinburgh’s auditions because of back pain.
