Alexandra Maquet grew up in Lyon, France, as well as spending time in the US, Brazil and Italy during her childhood. She graduated with a degree in economics before moving to Milan and then Paris to pursue her music career. Alma then met songwriter Nazim Khaled, before going on to sign a record deal with Warner Music France. She released her debut single ‘La chute est lente’ in June 2016. As well as this, her debut album Ma peau aime is due to be released in May.
France selected Alma to be their representative for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest in February this year. She will automatically advance to the final of the contest as France is a member of the ‘Big Five’. She will be heading of to Kyiv in May to perform the song ‘Requiem’.
