Waterparks was formed in Houston, Texas in the not-so-distant 2011. Inspired by pop-punk veterans Sum 41, Blink-182, and Fall Out Boy, the band’s sound is reminiscent of early millennial rock. So far, the band has played the infamous US Warped Tour, and supported the likes of Never Shout Never and Good Charlotte. In November 2015, the band was picked up by Equal Vision Records and hooked up with Benji and Joel Madden’s management team.
Waterparks has thus-far released three EP’s: Black Light, Airplane Conversations, and Cluster. My Chemical Romance’s Mikey Way featured on the latter. He joined the band for their UK support tour with Good Charlotte after guitarist Geoff Wigington was injured at 2016 Warped Tour.
