Welcome back to another edition of CelebMix’s New Music Round Up! We may have entered the month of May, but we’re still completely overwhelmed by all the new music that was released just a few days ago.
April 28 was one of the busiest New Music Fridays we’ve seen in a long time, with new offerings from artists such as OneRepublic, Hailee Steinfeld, Lea Michele, Hundred Handed, Bright Light Bright Light, Aston Merrygold, Over Atlantic, and Laura Tesoro.
We were also treated to collaborations galore from the likes of Kygo & Ellie Goulding, The Vamps & Martin Jensen, Migos & Katy Perry, AJR & Louisa Johnson and DJ Khaled featuring Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance The Rapper & Lil Wayne.
However, if you’re still craving some more new music to add to your playlist, we’ve rounded up some of the best of the rest which were unveiled recently.

The track is electro-tinged yet stays loyal to the band’s rock sound. ‘Young and Menace’ is the first song to be taken from their forthcoming album M A N I A. The album is due for release on September 15 and will be supported by a 20-date US tour which kicks off in October. We can’t wait to hear how their sound continues to develop on the new album!

HAIM – ‘Right Now’
After teasing their long awaited comeback, trio HAIM, made up of sisters Alana, Danielle and Este, are finally back with a new song. ‘Right Now’ is the first offering from their highly anticipated sophomore album, Something To Tell You, which comes almost four years after their debut album Days Are Gone. ‘Right Now’ is packed with powerful emotion, which makes us super excited for their forthcoming new material. Welcome back girls!
‘Right Now’ is available here.
Yes Lad – ‘Walk Away’
You may recognise Yes Lad from The X Factor 2016, where they made it all the way to Judges Houses. Since then, they’ve changed a little in terms of their line up, but they’ve also been busy grafting on their new music. ‘Walk Away’ is the band’s debut single, and it’s a pop/RnB fusion which is guaranteed to make you want to bust a move. Having released the music video for it back in March, the track was finally made available to download and stream on Friday. We think that Cian, Joel, Sonny, Lewis and Jake (who replaces previous member Luke) are well on their way to becoming the hottest new boyband on the block.
‘Walk Away’ is available to download and stream now.
Friends In Paris – ‘When Your Heart Is A Stranger’
‘When Your Heart Is A Stranger’ is the haunting new offering from duo Friends In Paris. The soulful yet hypnotic offering is the perfect song ” to soundtrack anyone who has experienced conflict with their heart.” The track is the first single to be unveiled from their debut EP Heart, which is due for release in the summer.
‘When Your Heart Is A Stranger’ is available now.
Catherine McGrath – ‘Just In Case’
Catherine McGrath is back with another stunner. ‘Just In Case’ is her latest offering, and the third track to be taken from her upcoming EP, Starting From Now which is due for release on June 9. The song has another social media inspired video, this time focusing on Facebook, which you can see below. MONOGEM – 100%
‘100%’ is the latest offering from Indie singer-songwriter Jen Hirsh, aka MONOGEM. It is taken from her upcoming sophomore EP of the same name, which is due for release on May 19. Co written and produced by Neara Russell, the song “tells the story about the push and pull between the head and heart, and trusting your instincts to get what you want.”
‘100%’ is available here.
HICARI – ‘Stellar’
Glitter pop five-piece HICARI are back with another catchy synth-pop anthem. Despite the song being a bop, it actually tackles the important issue of body image and the pressures to conform to society’s idea of “beauty”. Lead vocalist Shai says: “From the age of 11 to 18 I’d been bullied for being chubby and it has always played on my conscience. My mum always told me otherwise but I was convinced that I wasn’t good enough to be seen as attractive. Where I grew up, physical ‘beauty’ was seen as the only thing that made you worthy of being someone and so I grew up determined to be what people thought was beautiful. Now I see how subjective beauty is, we all perceive it differently and so for me ‘Stellar’ was being on both sides of the spectrum.”

Little Giants – Brother
‘Brother’ is the latest track from Bournemouth-formed band Little Giants. Made up of Sam James, Danny Hall and Luke Adams, the trio are ready to take on the summer with this upbeat offering, tinged with acoustic guitar and danceable beats. Having already garnered over 10 million plays across their Soundcloud and Spotify accounts, we foresee that Little Giants are heading for big things.
LP – ‘When We’re High’
‘Lost On You’ is a brand new track from LP, taken from her forthcoming studio album Lost On You which is due for release on May 5. The track was written and produced by LP herself, as well as Mike Del Rio (Christina Aguilera, X Ambassadors) and Nate Company (Tove Lo, Carly Rae Jespen, Martin Garrix).
‘When We’re High’ is available here.
CROOX – ‘Loyal’
UK collective CROOX return with a slice of electronic hip-pop in new single, ‘Loyal’. Of the track, the band said: “‘Loyal’ is a really special song to us as it’s been around since we started making music as CROOX. We were never sure that we would be able to do it justice so it’s pretty amazing to have it finished and ready for people to hear.”
‘Loyal’ is available to stream here.
Goody Grace – ‘April’
‘April’ is the first release from Goody Grace’s anticipated debut EP, Her Name Was April. Co-produced with Cisco Adler and 4E, the track recounts a personal story about Goody finding ‘angels’ in a New York night. Goody will be supporting LANY on their forthcoming Spring tour.
‘April’ is available to stream here.
Tove Styrke – ‘Say My Name’
Swedish popstrel Tove Styrke returns with her new single ‘Say My Name’. Co-written and produced by Elof Loelv, the track is all about getting intimate. Tove said: “There’s a reason why so much music is about sex and love, it is linked to one’s worst and best experiences. I have not written about love before because I didn’t want to write another love song. But I have changed. I am tired of being angry, right now I just need to make music that makes me feel good. The stronger I sing, the less I can affect the song. The more quiet I sing, the greater the differences will be in the tone and texture. A lot of people are afraid to talk loudly, but there is a strength to talking quietly – people really have to listen to you. There’s no need to try to be a man in a man’s world.”
‘Say My Name’ is available to download and stream.
SØF – ‘The Rush’
Indie pop artist SØF is back with her fourth release this year. Speaking about ‘The Rush’, she said: “‘The Rush’ is definitely my favorite song lyrically. I tend to write a lot about relationships and love- I mean, they’re easy topics to cover, especially in pop music- but I really wanted to write about something different and give myself a challenge. It was my sophomore year in college and I started to notice how almost everyone I knew either had a prescription for Adderall or Vyvanse, or they were just buying them from some kid down the hall of their dorm. It got me thinking a lot about uppers and how they effect your body and mind. We live in such a drug-fueled society, it’s nuts. So, ‘The Rush’ is about amphetamines.”
Steve Aoki & DVBBS – ‘Without U’ (feat. 2 Chainz)
Following on from his smash hit ‘Just Hold On’ featuring Louis Tomlinson, Steve Aoki is back with another track. ‘Without U’ is a collaboration with DVBBS and rapper 2 Chainz and was actually recorded back in early 2016 after years of discussing a potential collab. The song will appear on Steve’s forthcoming album.
‘Without U’ is available on iTunes and Spotify.
