Welcome back to another New Music Round Up!
This week was owned by our favourite females, with Kesha leading the new music pack with her highly anticipated album Rainbow. Both Pink and Jessie J made big comebacks, whilst Fifth Harmony gave us another glimpse as to what we can expect from their third album with ‘Angel’. We were also treated to new music from Zara Larsson, Alexandra Stan, Becky Hill and Stefflon Don.
Whilst the ladies definitely dominated this week, Avicii dropped a brand new EP and both The Script and Matt Terry unveiled acoustic versions of their new singles.
We’re not done just yet though. As usual, we’ve gathered some of the best of the rest to share with you! Here are eight more tracks which you need to listen to from the past week.
Ella Eyre – ‘Ego’ featuring Ty Dolla $ign
Ella Eyre is back with a fantastic new single called ‘Ego’. Teaming up with Ty Dolla $ign, ‘Ego’ is an infectious and uplifting offering which showcases Ella’s unique vocals. Ty’s rap is slick and fits in really well. ‘Ego’ is the first track from the singer’s forthcoming album. Ella is currently causing a storm on the charts with her Sigala-collaboration, ‘Came Here For Love’.
Dannii Minogue – ‘Holding On’
If you’re after a new club track to bop along to, then look no further! Dannii Minogue is back, teaming up with Jason Heerah for her new single ‘Holding On’. Die hard Dannii fans will be familiar with the song as she has been performing it at some of her recent live shows. However, the studio version is an absolute treat. Dannii will most likely be performing this song when she supports Take That on their upcoming Australian tour.
Rhys Lewis – ‘Be Your Man’
‘Be Your Man’ is the new single from soulful singer Rhys Lewis. The track shows a softer side to the artist, tackling the heartache of unrequited love. Speaking about the track, Rhys said: “‘Be Your Man’ is about getting closer to someone and then coming to the realisation that they’re still not over their last relationship. It makes you feel like you’ve not really been given a fair chance when the person you’re with keeps comparing you to what they had with someone else.”
Taao Kross – ‘Untouchable’ featuring Christina Novelli
‘Untouchable’ is the new single from DJ Taao Kross. With vocals from Christina Novelli, the track is addictive thanks to its poppy flavour and tropical vibe. The song is definitely a late entry for song of the summer and we can’t wait to dance along to it over the coming months. ‘Untouchable’ is guaranteed to be electric when Taao drops the track during his Pacha residency this summer as well as at high profile gigs across the world.
The Fedz – ‘Urban Tales’ / ‘Comment Ca Va’
The Fedz is a London collective made up of singers, rappers, producers, DJs and musicians. On Friday, they dropped two new tracks, both of which are special in their own unique way. ‘Urban Tales’ is a chilled, soulful offering, whilst ‘Comment Ca Va’ is a summery anthem which sees the collective team up with afrobeat artist D’Banj.
Marcel Somerville – ‘Someone’
‘Someone’ is the debut solo track from Marcel Somerville, aka Blazin Squad’s Rocky B. Marcel took recently took part in Love Island which catapulted his name back into the minds of the public. Whilst he found love on the show, he also gained a whole new fanbase who will be ready to support his new music. ‘Someone’ is a summery house track which was written and produced by Marcel himself. Alongside his solo material, Marcel will be joining the lads of Blazin’ Squad for a reunion gig in November which sold out within a day.
Sara Diamond – ‘Unsure’
‘Unsure’ is the latest single from Montreal pop RnB singer Sara Diamond. The track focuses on the uncertainties that plague one while dating. Using an understated beat, the song allows Sara to show off her unique vocal. Speaking about the track, Sara said that it’s “all about all about that mini-freakout you have when you realize things are moving super fast. Sometimes you want to let yourself get caught up in the excitement- you want to act impulsively and do what feels good… But then you remember that if you don’t take a step back and slow down a little, things might just flame out before they get a chance to grow.”
