With the semi-finals of the World Cup 2018 fast approaching, it’s safe to say that England has never been so united. From the very first match, the country has been gripped by World Cup Fever and with every game played and goal scored, the “It’s Coming Home” mentality is becoming a reality.
From countless memes on social media to ‘Three Lions (Football’s Coming Home)’ topping the UK iTunes chart, the words “It’s Coming Home” have been a staple part of England’s celebrations. Even some famous faces have been getting involved, from Ian Wright marching out of the Fox Sports studio live on air to celebrate, to Eastenders adding in extra scenes to reflect England’s success.
The latest star to show their support for the England team is none other than Boy George, lead singer of Culture Club. During the band’s performance at The Tobin Center of Performing Arts in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday, they celebrated England’s win over Sweden to reach the World Cup semi-final by performing the ‘Three Lions’ anthem with the crowd.
Altogether now….”It’s Coming Home!”
