Welcome back to CelebMix’s New Music Round Up. We’re half way through January and we’ve already been completely spoilt with new releases from lots of our favourite artists.
This week’s most talked about release comes from the lady of the moment, Camila Cabello. The songstress released her self-titled debut album, and went straight to number one in iTunes in 99 countries. In the process, she broke an iTunes record by becoming the first solo artist to rack up this many #1s with their debut album on the platform in its history.
Troye Sivan made a welcome return this week with his new single ‘My My My!’, taken from his forthcoming sophomore album. Craig David gave us another track from his album in the form of ‘Live in the Moment’ whilst Jorja Smith & Stormzy teamed up for a new single called ‘Let Me Down’. Stefflon Don gave her smash hit ‘Hurtin’ Me’ and all star remix, whilst The Black Eyed Peas made a return with ‘Street Livin’.
We also saw new releases from Ansel Elgort, The Vamps, Carrie Underwood & Ludacris, Dan & Shay, Hunter Hayes, Keke Palmer, 4th Impact, Nina Nesbitt, Nicky Romero & Spyder, Jenny March, Denny White, Rayvon Owen, Kiri T, Platnum & Sweet Female Attitude, Meg DeLacy, Nova Moura, FØNX, and GARABATTO & Charlee Muse.
If that wasn’t enough to whet your musical appetite, then we’ve got even more songs for you to check out below.
Hailee Steinfeld x BloodPop – ‘Capital Letters’
Pop princess Hailee Steinfeld has teamed up with BloodPop for her new song ‘Capital Letters’. The track is taken from the soundtrack to Fifty Shades Freed, which is available to pre-order now. ‘Capital Letters’ was co-written with Ellie Goulding and has an anthem-pop vibe to it.
Alex Aiono – ‘Thinking About You’
Alex Aiono is the gift that keeps on giving. Having blessed us with plenty of new singles during 2017, he’s kicking off 2018 in the right way with another slick RnB jam called ‘Thinking About You’. The track follows on from his recent T-Pain collab, ‘One at a Time’.
Maleek Berry – First Daze of Winter EP
First Daze of Winter is the new EP from Maleek Berry, featuring his recent hits ‘Been Calling’ and ‘Pon My Mind’. The EP is the follow up to Last Daze of Summer. Speaking about the EP, Maleek said: “’First Daze Of Winter’ is pretty much me wearing my heart on my sleeve and being more vulnerable in songs but at the same time I wanted to make the songs more danceable. Its concept is similar to Last Daze, telling the story of the emotional rollercoasters we all go through in relationships.”
Hudson Taylor – ‘Run With Me’
Irish duo Hudson Taylor, made up of brothers Alfie and Harry, are kicking off 2018 with a new single called ‘Run With Me’. Dog lovers will adore the accompanying music video, which was created in partnership with Dogs Trust. Speaking about the video, Hudson Taylor said: “‘Run with Me’ is about those friends that are by your side at all times and lift you up whatever you’re going through. Dogs are often that exact type of friend for people and we wanted to make a video that was uplifting and fun but also delivered the message that there are so many dogs in shelters and rescues around the country that just need loving homes. We absolutely loved making this video and we hope people not only enjoy watching it but also consider giving a rescue dog a home and having that dog give them their unconditional love and friendship in return.”
Forever In Your Mind – Euphoric EP
Euphoric is the new EP from boyband sensation Forever In Your Mind. The four-track EP includes their latest single, ‘Rabbit Hole’, which was debuted live on MTV’s TRL. Made up of Emery Kelly, Ricky Garcia and Liam Attridge, Forever In Your Mind were formed in 2013 on The X Factor USA and have since gained a loyal legion of fans.
Inara George – ‘Slow Dance’
‘Slow Dance’ is the latest single from Inara George’s (The Bird and the Bee) upcoming debut solo album Dearest Everybody. Speaking about the track, Inara said: “When I turned 42 I had a “Slow Dance” party. It was a great party… lots of dancing and carousing. The night reminded me of a certain part of myself from my youth. A part that isn’t really as available to me, nor is something that I long to be anymore. But still, the next day left me with a real sense of nostalgia. Growing older can be painful. I had some metaphorical growing pains. But one of the gifts of getting older is that I know that the end of something always leads to another beginning.”
Taao Kross – ‘Evolet’
After showcasing his diverse production style last year on tracks such as ‘Untouchable’, Taao Kross is back with his first release of the year. ‘Evolet’ is rich with lush piano chords and momentous orchestral melodies, creating another infectious and uplifting offering.
Mathew V – ‘Broken’
‘Broken’ is the self-empowering new offering from Mathew V. Taken from his forthcoming EP The Fifth, the track sees Mathew branching out into full on pop. The track follows on from his independently released EP Sounds in 2016.
